Vice President of Operations

The VP of Operations will have extensive experience in the daily and tactical operations of leadership within a fast-growing alcohol beverage brand. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with hands-on startup operating experience, making management contributions across multiple functions in production, logistics and supply chain. The VP of Operations role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the President.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the relationship with our wine producers, bottlers, warehouses and third party contractors for all supply chain partners
  • Lead and mentor a high performing team of Production, Logistics and Winemaking employees
  • Understand, develop, and manage operating budgets for wine production, transportation, inventory management, and warehousing
  • Work closely with partners and build relationships with existing and new external producers
  • Develop a knowledge base of currently contracted producers, bottlers and warehousing
  • Focus on continuous improvement of wine and packaging quality at contract facilities
  • Manage government compliance for winery & DTC licenses, permits, wholesale and production
  • Work closely with Sales and Digital teams on production planning for entire portfolio to meet sales goals
  • Oversee fulfillment operations, procurement, inventory and logistics
  • Lead sourcing initiatives for wine and packaging materials
  • Source, negotiate contracts, and onboard qualified partners and contractors
  • Manage inventory at warehouse and distributor levels

      Who You Are:

      • Ability to manage various third parties in the efficient and timely production of product to meet customer demand and maintain satisfactory inventory levels
      • Strong communication skills are essential given the global footprint of the business and management team
      • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects
      • Highly analytical, organized with critical attention to detail
      • Creative self-starter with a sense of urgency and persistence, equally comfortable guiding a cross-functional team or rolling up your sleeves
      • Strong leadership instincts and the ability to manage and influence others, and to work cross-functionally throughout the organization
      • Adaptable and flexible, and want to work for a fast-paced start-up
      • Excellent judgment and maturity coupled with a positive, collaborative attitude

      Qualifications:

      • 10+ years of experience in adult beverage industry operations and logistics, wine industry a plus
      • Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate education
