Trade Marketing Director

The Trade Marketing Director is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies and tools that support the sales team in gaining distribution and driving sales through Avaline's wholesale channels. This role will focus on securing new authorizations, placements, and promotional support to increase sales.


What You'll Do:

  • Trade Marketing Experience: Own the execution of a cohesive brand experience at the wholesale level, supporting the overarching brand strategy and marketing plan to drive consumer demand and sales both on and off premise, with a focus on national off premise. 
  • Shopper Marketing Programs: Plan, develop, and execute shopper marketing campaigns in collaboration with sales, identifying needs and implementing strategic marketing initiatives for national accounts (in-store, online, and event support).
  • Sales Tools Development: Ideate, develop, and produce all necessary tools for the sales team and distributor partners, including sales collateral, tech sheets, presentations, marketing communications, POS materials, shelf tags, coupons, promotional calendars, and in-store brand partnerships.
  • Data Storytelling: Collaborate with internal insights partners to build compelling data stories and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Retail-Focused Activations: Partner with internal channel managers to drive retail traffic through focused activations.
  • eCommerce Platforms: Manage marketing content and relationships on third-party eCommerce platforms (e.g., Syndigo, Instacart, Shipt, Drizly, Vivino).
  • Program Management: Develop profitable trade programs, optimize them during flight and provide comprehensive recaps to drive future campaign optimization.
  • Budget & Project Management: Manage the retail marketing budget and calendar, project deadlines, and status meetings to ensure timely and successful implementation of deliverables.
  • Team Management: Oversee and mentor a Senior Trade Marketing Associate, providing guidance, feedback, and development opportunities to ensure high performance and professional growth.

     Qualifications:

    • 7-10 years of marketing experience, preferably in the wine industry
    • Strong understanding of premium beverage marketing and Avaline’s positioning
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite and Adobe
