Area Sales Manager, Southern California

As the Area Manager for Southern CA, you will take the lead in understanding the local market and building strategies that drive growth in market share and sales. You will focus on maintaining strong, personal relationships with key accounts—whether on-premise or in retail—by showcasing Avaline’s portfolio of wines, ensuring our brand's story and quality are front and center.

This position is based in Los Angeles, covering the area from the Central Coast to San Diego.



What You'll Do:

  • Manage and grow Avaline’s wine portfolio in the assigned territory and channels.
  • Track depletions and oversee the execution of sales programs.
  • Conduct fieldwork by visiting key accounts across all channels
  • Conduct monthly meetings with distributor sales teams.
  • Maintain communication with chain execution leads across the territory.
  • Collaborate with Sales Director and distributor partners to create effective programming.
  • Ensure distributor partners adhere to brand standards.
  • Support national account execution at the regional level.
  • Launch and introduce new wines in the market.
  • Analyze sales data using iDig, eRNDC/Microstrategy, and internal dashboards to optimize performance.
  • Lead events and market activities alongside our in-house team and agency partners.

Who You Are:

  • Strong business sense with a focus on sales analysis.
  • Strong wine knowledge—WSET and CMS certifications are a plus.
  • A proven track record of delivering sales objectives and growth.
  • Leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in wholesale supply-chain management including building relationships, launching products, and growing sales while managing profitability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • 3-5 years of experience in the wine or spirits industry.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Existing business relationships in the Los Angeles market are a must.

      The Area Sales Manager role offers $90-120K Base Salary + Bonus + Equity + Benefits.
