The Avaline Spring Spritz

This season calls for refreshing sips with bold flavors inspired by the abundance of ripe fruit on our trees and bright, fresh herbs in our gardens.

We teamed up with our favorite Los Angeles based mixologist, Blaze Powers, to come up with some spring spritz recipes.

What we love most about Blaze’s recipes is that they are always adaptable -- don’t have plums? Use a peach instead! Don’t have sage? Try rosemary! It’s all about inspiring you to create something special with what you have on hand.

Our biggest tip when it comes to trying out these recipes is to make a bigger batch than you think you’ll need, because these sips are super delicious and go down fast-- especially when you’re sharing with friends!!

Pear & Lemon Spritz with Avaline Red

What you’ll need:

  • 3 oz Avaline Red
  • ¼ pear, muddled
  • A twist of lemon
  • Sparkling water

Step by step:

In a glass, muddle ¼ of a pear. Add 3 oz of Avaline Red (or however much you’re in the mood for!). Strain into your favorite wine glass and add a few ice cubes. Top with sparkling water, and garnish with a refreshing twist of lemon. Like a little spice? Add a stick of cinnamon. Enjoy in the late afternoon sun and a gentle breeze.

Plum & Sage Spritz with Avaline White

What you’ll need:

  • 3 oz Avaline White
  • ½ plum, muddled
  • 2 fresh sage leaves
  • Sparkling water

Step-by-step:

Take ½ of a plum and muddle it with 2 sage leaves in a glass. Add 3 oz (we won’t tell if you add an extra splash!) of Avaline White. Strain into a tall glass (we love a Collins glass for this) and add ice. Top your glass with sparkling water and garnish with a pretty bunch of sage leaves. Enjoy it in the garden, with your favorite people.

Pomegranate & Cardamom Spritz with Avaline Rosé

What you’ll need:

  • 3 oz Avaline Rosé
  • 3 tbsp pomegranate seeds
  • 8 cardamom pods
  • A twist of orange
  • Sparkling water

Step-by-step:

Take a handful of pomegranate seeds (about 3 tbsp) and muddle them in a glass with 8 cardamom pods. Add 3 oz of Avaline Rosé (but there’s no harm in adding a little extra!). Strain into a short glass (a double rocks glass is perfect for this). Add a few ice cubes and a splash of sparkling water. Garnish with a twist of orange and you’re ready to sip! Enjoy it while the sunset glows orange and pink, with your favorite song playing.
