Vice President, National Accounts

As Vice President of National Accounts, you’ll shape the future of Avaline’s chain retail presence across grocery, mass merchandisers, and drug channels. You’ll lead a passionate, high-performing team focused on smart growth and exceptional execution — and work hand-in-hand with our national distributor partner, SGWS.


This is a hands-on, strategic role for a seasoned industry leader who knows how to open doors, win line reviews, and build trust with buyers and distributor teams alike. You’ll bring the data, the plan, and the story — and you’ll make sure Avaline earns its place on the shelf and in the cart.


This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in the U.S. The role reports to the SVP Sales and will have two direct reports.



What You'll Do:

  • Design and drive Avaline’s national chain retail strategy to expand our footprint and accelerate growth.
  • Manage and mentor two Directors covering Grocery and Mass Merch/Drug sub-channels — setting clear goals and ensuring they have what they need to succeed.
  • Lead our SGWS chain retail partnership, ensuring alignment, accountability, and performance across markets.
  • Build and strengthen key headquarter relationships with major retail accounts, representing Avaline with confidence and integrity.
  • Oversee programming, promotional plans, and execution to deliver volume and share gains while staying true to Avaline’s premium positioning.
  • Bring insights to life: Use Circana, Nielsen, and SPINS data to build persuasive, fact-based selling stories.
  • Partner with marketing and trade marketing to develop retail programs that connect with today’s wine shopper and stand out in store.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure flawless forecasting, supply planning, and retail execution.
  • Report regularly to the SVP of Sales and leadership team on progress, wins, and opportunities to raise the bar even higher.

Who You Are:

  • A trusted partner to key accounts, with proven success managing headquarter calls and securing programming wins.
  • Strong understanding of distributor networks and the three-tier system.
  • Comfortable working with syndicated data tools and turning insights into stories that sell.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in wine sales, specializing in chain retail.
  • Experience working with SGWS required; RNDC and Winebow experience a plus.
  • Based in the U.S., preferably California, Texas, Ohio, Minnesota or Florida. 

      The VP National Accounts role offers a starting salary of $190K Base + Bonus + Equity + Benefits.
