Beaujolais

Smooth and light, with notes of berries, plums and florals.

The grapes: Because Gamay is the only red grape grown in the Beaujolais region of France, the two name are interchangeable. This high acidity, low tannin grape offers bright jammy flavors, well-rounded fruitiness, and is easy to pair with many different dishes.

Pairs well with: Cozy appetizers and bright, twinkling lights.

Emmanuelle Fellot:

The Fellot family has prided itself with a thriving heritage of farming, growing and making wine since 1829. With every generation that has passed, a deeper connection to the land and the small town of Rivolet has developed. The current winemaker, Emmanuel, is the assistant mayor of Rivolet and a member of the Beaujolais development community. In 1991, after a childhood spent in the vineyards, Emmanuel took over the estate after his father and started making his own wine. The vines he tends now were planted between 1927 and 1948 by his grandfather and father, which include the Gamay grapes featured in Avaline’s Beaujolais.
