Syrah

Full-bodied, with notes of crushed violets, blackberries and cocoa.

The grapes: Syrah is a bold and inky grape that has plenty of tannins and structure, yet offers a delicately floral flavor profile that's hard to beat. Ripe blackberry and plum notes give way to heady hints of violets and a bright touch of fruity chocolate on the finish—the range of flavor in every sip makes this one of the most coveted red wines available.

Pairs well with: Late night talks after the plates have been cleared.

Domaine La Grange:

Purchased in 2007 by Rolf and Renate Freund, Domaine La Grange is a winery with unique land. It nestles up to the base of France’s Haut Languedoc Regional Nature Park, and is surrounded by 3 inactive volcanoes, which means that there is a tremendous variety of wildlife and forestland throughout the property.  In 2019, in an effort to help the estate fully embrace its potential in organic winemaking, the Freunds called on Nicolas de Saint Exupéry to join the team as head winemaker. Nicolas is himself a fifth-generation winemaker in the Languedoc, with extensive experience in the region.
