A little sweet, a little salty, and deeply snackable—this award-worthy plate brings together creamy camembert, tart cherries, crunchy almonds, and dark chocolate for easy entertaining. The perfect party plate for grazing with a glass of wine.
Ingredients
- Mini Camembert Cheese (sliced)
- Crispy crackers of your choice
- 2 Tbsp sour cherry spread
- ¼ cup Marcona almonds (roasted + salted)
- 1 your choice of any dark juicy fruit like plum, blackberries, or cherries (sliced if large)
- Dark chocolate truffles
Hosting Tip: In general, when it comes to wine pairings, don’t overthink it. You don’t need to pair your wines with anything specific, just shop for things you like and know you’ll enjoy. The rule of thumb I like to follow for pairings is that red wines can be paired with heartier, more robust flavors (rich, creamy camembert, tart cherries, dark chocolate) while white wines tend to work better with lighter, crisper flavors ( goat cheese, apricots, pestos, seafood). Have fun experimenting, and play around with different combinations and wine varieties until you find your perfect combination! Chilled reds get overlooked, and are a great way to enjoy red wine, especially for people who think they don’t like red wine (me included!) Opt for a lighter bodied red like Avaline’s Pinot Noir, Beaujolais, Lambrusco or the Red blend.
